Kelly told me that she decided to try horseback riding, even though she had no lessons or prior experience. She said that she mounted the horse unassisted, and the horse immediately leaped into motion. It galloped at a steady and rhythmic pace, but that Kelly began to slip from the saddle. In terror, she grabbed for the horse’s mane, but could not seem to get a firm grip. She tried to throw her arms around the horse’s neck, but she slid down the side of the horse anyway. The horse galloped along, seemingly oblivious to its slipping rider.

Finally, giving up her frail grip, Kelly attempted to leap away from the horse and throw herself to safety. Unfortunately, her foot had become entangled in the stirrup and she was now at the mercy of the horse’s pounding hooves as her head is struck against the ground over and over.

She was mere moments away from unconsciousness when to her great fortune, Frank, the Wal-Mart greeter saw her and unplugged the horse.
